Local Day Out, 5th February 2020

Andy was down for work, so an opportunity for a gentle day's birding locally arose.

We quickly picked up the long staying Ashton's Siberian Stonechat, which was unfazed by the management work taking place. No sign of the previous day's Scaup on Neumann's, but the usual selection of wildfowl and 6 Curlew.

Next was Frodsham, where the 3 Cattle Egrets which have been around all winter showed at come distance as they followed their bovine pals. Lots of Lapwing, a couple of Kestrels and several Ravens were the only other birds of note.

New Brighton Marine Lake next, where the pontoon supported 3 Purple Sandpipers, 2 Knot and 12 Common Redshanks. Our original plan was to head to Marshside from here, but we decided it took too much time and instead headed for the RSPB Burton Mere wetland reserve.

Highlights here were a showy Great Egret, several Little Egrets and plenty of wildfowl and commoner waders. It's a lovely place to wander about even if there wasn't much to write home about.

Finally we headed over to at Parkgate for the last hour or so. The highlight of the day was a particularly showy Short-eared Owl which hunted and perched at close range for our entire time there. Small groups of Pink-footed Geese were dotted about, and several Marsh Harriers hunted. Andy picked up a distant perched Peregrine and another Great Egret, and then a male Hen Harrier which was a bit more distant than I'd have liked.

A really enjoyable day.

  1. Strange "water hack" burns 2lbs overnight

At least 160000 men and women are utilizing a simple and secret "water hack" to burn 1-2 lbs each night in their sleep.

It's proven and it works all the time.

This is how you can do it yourself:

    1) Hold a drinking glass and fill it up half glass

    2) Proceed to follow this weight losing HACK

and become 1-2 lbs skinnier as soon as tomorrow!
