A quick evening visit to see the adult summer Long-billed Dowitcher at Frodsham. It had been at Burton Mere Wetlands the previous week but I hadn't managed to get down. Always nice to see an American wader and in breeding plumage, but views were predictably distant on Frodhsam Number 6 tank.
The tank thronged with birds; a couple of thousand Black-tailed Godwits, around 500 Redshank, an Avocet, about a dozen Ruff and a couple of hundred Dunlin were present.
